The commission from Mercedes Benz was to design a flagship for their luxury car, the Maybach, in the historic surroundings of the former Studebaker garage in Repulse Bay.

The aim was to provide a faithful renovation of the original structure and skin of the building, yet create an elegant and technologically driven environment internally that would reflect the brand position of the Maybach line.

 

Functional additions to the building – including the entrance canopy, entry façade and rear terrace – enabled a logical extension of the interior design ethos to become manifest from outside.  This entrance sequence extends into an internal colonnade charting the history of the marque, with the main car display areas beyond.
