PRIVATE RESIDENCE

Shouson Hill

2014

Residential

Private Client

Completed

GFA : Approx. 4,800 sq.ft

This 5000 sq.ft 4 storey Townhouse in Shouson Hill was extensively re-modeled to create a private family residence, complete with dual roof terraces and podium garden.  The intention was to create a series of expanding vistas through the building, stemming from the central staircase which was opened up and re-configured in crystal glass, replacing the old brick enclosure.  In this way, the main social areas of the house were interconnected reception lounge on the ground floor, dining on the lower garden floor, leading to more private zones beyond the audiophile suite, family room, kitchen and back of house. Subsidiary spaces invariably were accessed via secret doors such as the powder room off the lounge or sliding wall panels to ensure the clean lines of the design were uninterrupted.  As such, the house exudes simplicity, bathed in natural daylight, that is enriched with a complimentary palette of fine materials – azure blue stone, bleached oak flooring, ultra white travertine and eco-ebano walls.
