LOFT is a brand new commercial building in Putuo district Shanghai, developed as the creative hub for new start up companies.

Loft minus and Loft plus were 2 symbiotic components of a co-working environment designed in Shanghai in the fast evolving district of Putuo.  The Client’s ambition was to attract start-up and creative companies to their brand new commercial space.  A twofold strategy was evolved and executed in 2012…..For Loft minus, KplusK were commissioned to design the entrance experience and shared facilities including a large triple height exhibition hall, concierge reception, meeting rooms and conference facilities for hire, a wine bar and indoor / outdoor café.  Loft plus was an exercise in creating showcase working spaces to clearly describe how the new workspaces could be modelled, fashioned out of interconnected double height voids with mezzanines and working platforms.  Each space was designed according to the whims of a fictitious CEO who’s own tastes were to be embedded in the spatial configuration and fabric of the environment.  The spaces were thus designed for the following characters:
